ENG: We are more about programming festivals than code, but apparently “call super” is a tool in some programming languages to replicate and/or rewrite functions of similar objects. Or something like that. Joseph Richmond Seaton, from London, whose artistic name is Call Super would definitely explain it better. There must be a reason why it is his alter ego. Both his critically acclaimed debut Suzi Ecto and the recent Arpo make it clear that he is about meticulous almost scientific electronic music, in which the small details are what matters and in which feelings are transmitted through binary textures. He has even been called a techno impressionist; 21st century IDM. What is clear is that if he was chosen to inaugurate Houndstooth, the record label of the legendary London club Fabric it is because Call Super is writing his own, unique and irreplaceable code.
