Di Salvio y Vercelli llevan desde 2009, trabajando intensamente en el campo de la performance visual y sonora. Los dos artistas romanos, rodeados de sus habituales colaboradores (Quiet Ensemble se presenta siempre como un colectivo de creadores) han ido dando forma a una serie de obras que tienden hacia el minimalismo y el formato de concierto invisible, ese en el que el espectador solo ve una parte muy pequeña del complejo mecanismo que hay detrás. Para ello utilizan de forma muy imaginativa elementos sonoros y software digital, transformando el movimiento en una sinfonía de sonido inesperada. Inspirados por las ideas de John Cage, el objetivo de los shows de Quiet Ensemble – “The Enlightment”, “Solin Vario”, “Orchestra da Camera”, “Natura Morta» – es revelarnos esos aspectos ocultos de la creación que casi siempre nos pasan desapercibidos ante los oídos y la mirada.
ENG: Pulling back the curtain on audiovisual performance, in Back Symphony the Italian creators Bernnardo and Fabio, invite the audience into the creation of the piece. Starting with a blank stage, elements will be introduced gradually light, sound, noise, machinery, building up a symphony, which, counterintuitively, will cease to exist the moment it is assembled. Since 2009 the Italian duo have formed the nucleus of Quiet Ensemble, a collective of artists working in audiovisual performance and sound art. In the intervening decade, they’ve created a number of works rooted in minimalism and exploring the idea of the “invisible concert”. Inspired by John Cage, a Quiet Ensemble show focuses on those moments in performance that often pass unnoticed, an effect achieved through the imaginative use of sound and software, that translates movement into a symphony of the unintended.
