El final de la celebración de los 25 años de Sónar no podría tener mejores anfitriones: Ryuichi Sakamoto y Alva Noto, juntos de nuevo para ofrecer el concierto de clausura de Sónar 2018. Y en un espacio espectacular: el Teatre Grec de Barcelona, con su majestuoso anfiteatro y al aire libre. Ambos presentarán un espectáculo totalmente nuevo e inédito en el que se encuentran trabajando ahora mismo. Llevará el nombre de «Two», y en él se podrá escuchar material sonoro creado especialmente para la ocasión, además de dejar espacio para la improvisación. El de Sónar será uno de los poquísimos conciertos en toda Europa que ambos artistas ofrecerán este 2018. Sakamoto y Noto acaban de publicar un nuevo álbum, «Glass», la grabación de una actuación improvisada en directo e inspirada por el edificio donde tuvo lugar, la emblemática Glass House proyectada por el arquitecto norteamericano Philip Johnson en 1949.
La relación entre ambos artistas viene de lejos. Han publicado varios discos a cuatro manos («Vrioon», «Insen», «Summvs»), todos ellos publicados en NOTON; y no es la primera vez que actuarán juntos en Sónar, donde hemos tenido el placer de disfrutarles en varias ocasiones (también por separado). En 2015 compusieron la banda sonora de «The Revenant», película dirigida por Alejandro González Iñárritu, y ahora repiten de nuevo con este trabajo, que confirma el excelente momento artístico que están atravesando cada uno de ellos: Sakamoto –uno de los músicos más relevantes de los últimos 40 años, fundador de Yellow Magic Orchestra y ganador de un Oscar por la música de «El Último Emperador»– ha obtenido un enorme éxito con su más reciente álbum, «async»; y Noto tiene un nuevo trabajo a punto de ver la luz, llamado UNIEQAV, que presentará en solitario en Sónar de Día. Un lujo tenerlos de nuevo con nosotros para poner la guinda final a una edición tan especial como la de este año.

ENG: The end of Sónar’s 25th anniversary celebration couldn’t be in better hands. Ryuichi Sakamoto and Alva Noto, together again to offer the closing concert of Sónar 2018. And in a spectacular space: the Teatre Grec of Barcelona, with its majestic open-air amphitheatre. Both will present a totally new and unprecedented show on which they are working right now. It will be called «Two», and will feature music created especially for the occasion, as well as room for improvisation. Sónar’s will be one of the very few concerts in Europe that both artists will offer this 2018, off the back of their new album,»Glass», the recording of a live improvised performance inspired by the building where it took place, the emblematic Glass House designed by the American architect Philip Johnson in 1949. The relationship between the two artists goes back a long way. Together, they have released several albums («Vrioon»,»Insen»,»Summvs»), all of them published on NOTON; and it is not the first time that they will perform together at Sónar, where we have had the pleasure of enjoying them several times (as well as individually).
