Hace unas pocas semanas, la revista online Crack Magazine publicaba una lista con los 50 DJs más excitantes del momento, y en el número 1 situaban a Helena Hauff. Es solo una lista y un medio, pero sirve como ejemplo del status que ha alcanzado la alemana en los últimos años. El respeto y admiración de todo el mundo, es, además –y más importante que aparecer en cualquier lista– absolutamente merecido, por razones obvias: clase, conocimiento, compromiso y puro talento. Además de sus impecables sets, siempre tensos y afilados como una navaja, Hauff ha publicado ya varios discos de gran envergadura como productora, entre ellos el álbum «Discreet Desires» (Werk, 2015) y su último EP para Ninja Tune, «Have You Been There Have You Seen It», aparecido este mismo otoño. Sónar ya la invitó en 2015 cuando aún no era tan conocida como ahora y reinaba en las noches del pequeño club de culto Golden Pudel, en Hamburgo; y el año pasado vino de nuevo, pinchando junto a Ben UFO, con quien forma un tándem insuperable. Hoy es ya sin duda una de las mejores DJs de techno del mundo, si no la mejor, capaz de conjugar en sus sets todos los lenguajes y corrientes del género: tradición industrial, acid de la vieja y la nueva escuela, electronic body music, darkwave, minimal wave y electro.

ENG: Just a few weeks ago, online magazine Crack published an article listing 50 of today’s most exciting DJs and Helena Hauff topped the list at number 1. Although it is only one list and one magazine, it serves as pertinent example of the status that the German artist has achieved in recent years. The respect and worldwide admiration she has received is also – and more important than appearing on any list – entirely deserved for abundantly obvious reasons: her elegance, quality, knowledge, commitment and unadulterated talent. In addition to her impeccable razor sharp and tension building sets, as a producer Hauff has already released several significant albums, among them «Discreet Desires» (Werk, 2015), while her latest EP on Ninja Tune, «Have You Been There Have You Seen It», is released this autumn. Sónar welcomed a lesser-known Hauff when she performed in 2015 and was queen of the cult Golden Pudel club in Hamburg. She returned last year to play alongside Ben UFO, with whom she formed an unparalleled tandem. Today she is undoubtedly one of the best techno DJs in the world, if not the best, with her sets able to conjugate all genres and today’s trends: industrial, old and new style acid, electronic body music, darkwave, minimal wave and electro.
