Excéntrico y carismático, Damian Lazarus sabe cómo llevar sus sets siempre un paso más allá de lo previsible, tanto en su selección como en la ejecución. Su experiencia y olfato infalible se dejarán notar en Sónar 2017, donde ofrecerá uno de esos sets tan suyos en los que puede sonar un banger de techno al lado de un clásico soul y a continuación un tema de rockabilly de forma totalmente natural y coherente. Lazarus destaca también por su capacidad para descubrir hits potenciales para la pista antes que nadie, y llevar en su maleta (o en su pendrive) inéditos que nunca antes han sonado en ningún club. En sus primeros años en el mundo de la música, Lazarus, que actualmente reside en Los Ángeles, fue A&R del sello City Rockers, lanzando a nombres como Felix Da Housecat o Tiga. Pronto fundó su propia plataforma, Crosstown Rebels, hogar en el que empezaron a despegar Jamie Jones y Art Department, y en el que han publicado Laurent Garnier, Seth Troxler o Maceo Plex entre muchos otros. Además de su impagable papel de anfitrión y aglutinador de la escena británica y de su larga experiencia como DJ (fue residente durante un tiempo de Nitsa), Lazarus puede presumir de una notable discografía a su nombre, que incluye maxis y un LP en Get Physical, recopilatorios de todo tipo, colaboraciones con cómplices habituales y últimamente varios EPs publicados con su proyecto The Ancient Moons, en el que le acompaña James Ford de Simian Mobile Disco y una amplia nómina de vocalistas. He soon founded his own label, Crosstown Rebels; a launch pad for the likes of Jamie Jones and Art Department, which also saw releases from Laurent Garnier, Seth Troxler and Maceo Plex among many others. In addition to his role as a respected ambassador for the British scene and his long history as a DJ, Lazarus boasts a distinguished discography as a solo artist. This includes various 12″, an LP on Get Physical, all kinds of compilations, collaborations with regular accomplices and most recently several EPs released under his The Ancient Moons moniker, together with James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco and a number of different vocalists. Lazarus never stops moving forward.
