La búlgara Mira Nedyalkova que también ha sido modelo, vive y trabaja en Sofía, reconoce que siempre le ha gustado la fotografía como arte, pero empezó con el dibujo y no fue hasta el año 2007 cuando descubrió la fotografía como vehículo de expresión. Dice Nedialkova que no considera sus fotografías como tales, ya que piensa que sus creaciones están a medio camino entre la fotografía y la pintura. La mayoría de su trabajo lo constituyen autorretratos y en ellos están presentes conceptos como el dolor, la belleza y lo erótico. La mayoría de sus obras están realizadas dentro del agua y no es de forma accidental, ya que explica: No me dedico profesionalmente a la fotografía, es más, ni siquiera diría que soy una fotógrafa porque lo que hago es una mezcla entre fotografía y pintura, incluso me atrevería a decir que un poco más pintura. Para mí la fotografía es pasión, algo que me da serenidad y mucha satisfacción. A través de lo que hago, hablo de mí y de mi mundo, el mundo en el que siento la vida y a través del cual quiero transmitir emociones. No estoy segura de estar preparada para transformar esta pasión en trabajo, no sería lo mismo, debería satisfacer una serie de compromisos y eso creo que no me gustaría.
En mis fotos hablo de mi mundo, de mi alma, de mi corazón. Soy toda yo, son mis placeres, mi felicidad, mis miedos, mi dolor, mi amor… Nuestra vida se compone de todas estas cosas y yo intento unirlas todas en mis fotografías porque creo que los sentimientos son muy valiosos y son los que nos hacen avanzar. El dolor es lo que más me intriga, creo que es el sentimiento más profundo y puede albergar todos los otros sentimientos y emociones. Creo que el dolor es nuestro salvador porque nos hace apreciar la vida, el placer, el amor…
LUST FOR LIFE OF EACH OF US
Mira Nedyalkova is an artist from Sofia, Bulgaria. Mira started her art career with painting and modeling, but now focusses exclusively on photography with water as her biggest source if inspiration. Water is filled with energy, and it’s two-sided: it gives life but it can also destroy us. By positioning her models in water it seems like Mira fades the line of our existence: it is as if the line between life and death fades away.
I have always loved photography as art, but i started with drawing and I was also was a model. Later in 2007 I discovered photography as a means to express myself and completely replaced painting. My photographs are not exactly a photographs, my creations are somewhere in between paintings and photography. In my images I use pain as a beauty, erotic as a psychological way of life. I express myself and my intimate inner life. Indeed, the majority of my works are in the water, this of course is not accidental. From many points of view, for me the water is very suitable means to express what I carry in me and recreate my ideas.. It’s really inspiring to me the water is my creation. The creation the life, the power…the water is filled with tremendous energy. It is the winner of pleasure and delight it gives life, but also poses a risk, threat, it can destroy us. I love the transparency and purity of water light and reflecting and transformations that is suffered in contact with another medium. For me the water is highly erotic element precisely because of the opposites that brings. Water is the one who quenches our thirst and saves us. Lust for life of each of us, the thirst for love and the eternal struggle and attempt to erase, to dull to heal the pain, sadness, loneliness…
