HYMN es una marca con sede en Londres que apuesta por los valores tradicionales de calidad y mano de obra y los reinterpreta con un toque contemporáneo. La colección otoño – invierno ’16 está inspirada en la actitud rebelde y el estilo de la era del Punk británico de la década de 1970.
La moda Punk era originalmente una expresión de inconformidad, así como oposición a la cultura dominante y el status-quo. La individualidad y la rebelión fueron una fuerte influencia para el movimiento, un ethos compartido por HYMN para esta colección. Los hábitos Punk de comprar prendas de segunda mano y personalizarlas ellos mismos es una fuerte influencia detrás de la colección y se puede ver en los parches y estilos de patchwork. Cada prenda de la colección lleva el nombre de una banda de Punk o intérprete. Lo más destacable de este año son los prints de imperdibles, guitarras, baquetas… La influencia del Punk también se aprecia a lo largo de la colección a través de detalles militares en camisas, chaquetas y pantalones… Combinado con la estética Punk son cualidades constantes a través de la marca; texturas inusuales y atención al detalle en cada prenda.
H Y M N PUNK INSPIRED RANGE
HYMN is a brand that has grown from a company of London-based creatives. We take traditional values of quality and workmanship and reinterpret them with a contemporary edge. For AW16 we were inspired by the rebellious attitude and the style of the British Punk era of the 1970s. Punk fashion was originally an expression of nonconformity, as well as opposition to both mainstream culture and the status-quo. Individuality and rebellion were a strong influence for the movement, an ethos shared by HYMN for this collection.
Punk habits of buying second-hand garments and customised them themselves is a strong influence behind the collection and can be seen in sewn on patches and patchwork styles. Fashions in the punk subculture required taking articles of clothing with a specific meaning and redefining them. Each garment in the collection is named after a Punk band or performer and the theme is most easily recognisable in our signature external and internal hand-drawn prints – this year’s most notable are safety pins, guitars, drumsticks, a television being thrown out of a window and even our very own HYMN punk band.
Punk’s influence can also be seen throughout the collection through military details on shirts, jackets and trousers as well as tartan checks appearing on jackets, shirts and internals. Combined with the punk aesthetic are qualities consistent across the HYMN brand; superior hand-feel, unusual textures and attention to detail in every garment.
