“El cuerpo humano me excita, el femenino sobre todo; pero soy bastante tímido y cobardón, y ese ha sido siempre el principal problema en mi trabajo. Tuve una infancia y una juventud desafortunadas, pero ahora, cumplidos los setenta, soy absolutamente feliz”.
La obra genera un vaivén de emociones: melancolía, alegría, atracción, aversión; voces ocultas y en cierto sentido “enfermas”. Enfermas de deseo y placer que respiran sensualidad. En la belleza femenina encuentra su inspiración que lejos de retratar una imagen estética, intenta transmitir el cuerpo humano de una manera sublime, mujeres desnudas de la vida cotidiana con un estilo de corriente barroco y surrealista. La percepción de algunas de sus obras se desenvuelve en la parte sexual, en el acto intimó con la pareja, la relación de sentimientos, sensaciones, intercambio de miradas, fluidos, la unión hombre y mujer o entre iguales, prevaleciendo el acto sexual inherente al ser humano.
ENG: His photography has been a celebration of characteristics of human nature since the seventies: human beings, woman, father, mother, lovers and babies and adolescents. The passing of time, birth and death. In the eighties, a series of antithetical elements entered his imagination: love and hate, beauty and ugliness, youth and old age. They are all an animalistic aggression that as such stroked his masochism. Born in Prague in 1935, Saudek cultivated his dream to become a photographer since an adult. Self-taught, viscerally independent and hostage of the communist regime, he worked as a photographer for years in the cellar of his house (using the scraped off part of the room as his backdrop), vigorously achieving moral norms and social rules to follow his passion.
