Tony Malony, tienda de arte, antigüedades y objetos con historia y propulsora del movimiento intelectual ‘subdeca’, quiere presentar al mundo la Admirable vida y obra del artista Marc Stamer, pintor alemán que vive en Mallorca y que fue la mano derecha de uno de los artistas más reconocidos del expresionismo alemán del siglo 20, Jörg Immendorff, quien a su vez fue alumno de uno de los artistas más vanguardistas del arte contemporáneo y creador del movimiento Fluxus, Joseph Beauys.
Marc Stamer forma parte de una generación de grandes artistas con una visión genuina y fiel a sus principios a pesar de los contratiempos que se ha encontrado por el camino.
Subdeca
La subdecadencia es un movimiento intelectual, que al caminar por debajo de la decadencia, cultiva un nuevo renacimiento filosófico, cultural y humano. Un movimiento empático que une dos conceptos contrapuestos, la decadencia y el renacimiento, en uno de tal manera que el individuo se destruye, se acepta a sí mismo con todas su virtudes y defectos para luego construirse. En esta corriente, la imperfección adquiere un matiz sublime.

Pero la empatía empieza con uno mismo. En el momento que el individuo se acepta como un ser imperfecto y bello se crea una energía vital con un gran poder transformador que afecta a sí mismo y a su alrededor.

Marc Stamer
A finales de los 80 y con tan sólo 14 años Marc Stamer comenzó su expresión artística a través del graffiti. Fue uno de los cuatro integrantes del grupo de graffiti SWB, SubwayBombers. Quisieron aprender de los gurús del Street Art, así que viajaron a Nueva York y a París. “Empezamos con el graffiti porque éramos como un perro que se mea en cada una de las paredes.”
NOTA: Como muchos de los movimientos artísticos a lo largo de nuestra historia, el Street-Art es reivindicativo y pretende resaltar los problemas político-sociales por los que atraviesa la humanidad. Son las nuevas generaciones a las que hay que dejarles paso, con posibilidades de analizar las circunstancias así como de cambiarlas.
Pero esta etapa finalizó cuando uno de sus amigos y componente de la banda se suicidó por las denuncias y las presiones que recibía de la policía. En ese momento, Marc Stamer dejó el grafiti sintiendo la necesidad de conocer la base del arte, así que empezó a investigar, se sumergió en los libros y empezó a probar de forma autodidacta las diferentes técnicas y secretos de artistas como Basquiat, Jörg Immendorff, Miró, Van Gogh, Goya, Velázquez, Leonardo Da Vinci, etc. Cogió fuerzas para presentarse y mostrar su trabajo a Jörg Immendorff y éste se mostró impresionado por sus obras. A pesar de que Stamer no había finalizado sus estudios básicos, un comité de expertos en arte valoraron su trabajo y le permitieron acceder directamente a la escuela de Artes como estudiante invitado y como asistente y mano derecha de Immendorff. Vino a Mallorca en el año 2001, cuando vendió su primera obra a un coleccionista de arte y vivió a caballo entre Mallorca y Alemania durante los siguientes años para poder seguir trabajando con su profesor y sacarse el Master en Artes.
Se casó y tuvo dos hijos pero circunstancias de la vida le llevaron a la depresión. Su mujer se separó de él, cayó en las drogas, quiso morir. Ahora está de vuelta y quiere vivir.
Marc Stamer y la Subdecadencia
Marc Stamer es un artista del movimiento subdecadente que tiene influencias del impresionismo, expresionismo y surrealismo entre otras.
La subdecadencia abraza diferentes técnicas de expresión que trabajan la auto-empatía, entre ellas el puntillismo de Stamer.
La base del puntillismo de Stamer viene del impresionismo puntillista pero evoluciona hacia una expresión más vital.
La mente reflexiva y lógica de los pintores impresionistas que utilizaron el puntillismo, buscaba la reducción del instinto al orden, del impulso al cálculo y la reconciliación de los rígidos principios del dibujo con los principios ópticos intuidos por los grandes coloristas. El puntillismo vital de Stamer tiene en común con el puntillismo impresionista que no falta en él el estudio de iluminación, pero tiene un componente más expresionista al utilizarse como un recurso para la manifestación de emociones y sentimientos. Para la subdecadencia, cada punto representa una expresión de vida donde se lleva a cabo una revolución interna generada por un grupo de elementos o de personas. Personas o elementos que dentro de un movimiento circular poroso con libertad de entrada y salida, crean una pequeña revolución que afecta determinantemente en sus vidas. Los individuos más empáticos que permanecen como observadores fuera del círculo se contagian de esa energía y crean otro punto vital. La energía se reproduce y se representa en un mapa puntillista irregular, con un caos aparente y surrealista, pero a la vez muy estructurado y energético.

Tony Malony, a place of art, antiques and historical objects and the propeller of the intellectual ‘subdeca’ movement, wants to present to the world the Admirable life and work of the artist Marc Stamer, a german painter who resides in Mallorca and was the right hand of one of the most recognized artists of the 20th century German Expressionism, Jörg Immendorff, who in turn was a student of one of the most avant-garde artists of contemporary art and the creator of the Fluxus movement, Joseph Beauys.
Marc Stamer is part of a generation of great artists with a genuine vision, while being true to his principles despite the setbacks he has faced in his life.
Subdeca
Subdecadency is an intellectual movement, which circulates below the decadence in order to cultivate a new philosophical, cultural and human renaissance. An empathetic movement uniting decay and renaissance, two opposing concepts united as one, where the self-destructive individual accepts himself with all his strengths and weaknesses and then rebuilds himself. Within this movement imperfection becomes a sublime nuance.

But empathy begins with oneself. Once the individual is accepted as an imperfect and beautiful being a vital energy is created with a great transforming power affecting the individual himself, as well as his surroundings.

Marc Stamer
In the late 80s, at the young age of 14, Marc Stamer began his artistic expression through graffiti. He was one of the four members of the graffiti group SWB, SubwayBombers. As they were eager to learn from the gurus of Street Art they decided to travel to New York and Paris. «We started with graffitti because it was like a dog pissing on every Wall”.
NOTE: As many artistic movements throughout history, Street-Art is vindictive and aims to highlight the political and social issues which surrounds mankind. They are the new generations that need to be let through and pushed forward as they possess the possibility to analyze the circumstances as well as change them.
This period in Marc’s life abruptly ended when one of his friends and group members committed suicide due to the pressure he received from the police. At that time, Marc Stamer left graffiti feeling the need to study the basis of art. He started to investigate, immersed himself in books and taught himself the different techniques and secrets of artists such as Basquiat, Jörg Immendorff, Miró, Van Gogh, Goya, Velazquez, Leonardo Da Vinci, etc. It took strength to come forward and show his work to Jörg Immendorff who was impressed by his work. Although Stamer had not completed his basic studies, a committee of art experts assessed his work and allowed him direct access to the School of Arts as a guest student and as an assistant and the right hand of Immendorff.
Stamer came to Mallorca in 2001, when he sold his first work of art to an art collector. He lived between Mallorca and Germany during the next few years in order to be able to continue working with his teacher and receive a Masters Degree in Arts.
He married and had two children but life circumstances led him to depression. His wife left him, he fell victim to drugs, he wanted to die. However, he is now back and with a desire to live.
Marc Stamer and Subdeca
Marc Stamer is an artist of the subdeca movement with influences of impressionism, expressionism and surrealism, among others.
Subdecadency embraces different techniques of expression working towards self-empathy, including Stamer’s pointillism.
The root of Stamer’s pointillism derives from impressionist pointillism but has evolved into a more vital expression.
The reflective and logical mind of the Impressionist painters who included pointillism in their work, sought to reduce the instinct of order, the impulse to the calculation and reconciliation of the rigid principles of drawing the optical principles intuited by the great colorists. But the vital pointillism of Stamer has in common with the Impressionist pointillism that there is a lot of lighting study in it, but it is more expressionistic, used as a resource component to express emotions and feelings.
In subdecadency, each point represents an expression of life where it carries out an internal revolution generated by a group of items or persons. People or elements in a circular motion porous freely in and out, create a small revolution that affects their lives determinedly. The more empathetic individuals who remain as observers outside the circle spread of that energy and create another vital point. The energy is reproduced and displayed in an irregular pointillist map, with an apparent surreal chaos, yet very structured and energetic.
