Bienvenidos a la ciudad del cartón y las flores, la ciudad de la nebulosa representada en papel. Casi como la nuestra, la que vemos con los ojos cerrados mientras se la contamos a los otros, con sus simbolismos utópicos. Como una mina de flores extrañas, enganchadas a lo más cruel (o debería nostálgico). Porque la vida sin fantasía no sería vida, y el collage necesita de la vida, y de artistas como ella.
Esta ilustradora y artista visual residente en Cardiff, Gales, se inspira en los animales, las películas antiguas y de ciencia ficción para crear sus patterns y collages. Redburn da vida a sus sueños y mundos imaginarios y deja libertad al espectador para reflexionar sobre su propio imaginario.
ENG: Laura Redburn is a young collage and mixed media illustrator currently living in Cardiff, Wales. Color, animals, nature, old films, science fiction, dreams and vivid imagination inspire her. She likes to create snapshots from dreams and other worlds in her work, leaving the viewer to reflect upon their own dreams, imagination and experiences to gather their own meaning from the illustrations.
Sharing my love of colour and making others feel happy is a big thing for me. When it comes down to it, that is something that’s very important to me when it comes to my work. I’m very inspired by people, colour, patterns and nature and therefore those are things that are prominent in my work. I’d also say I’m very motivated by the idea of working for myself and finding ways to improve my practise.
