A finales del año 2013 comienza a crear sus primeras piezas de collage digital. Ya en sus inicios destaca por su marcado tono surrealista. Su afición a coleccionar revistas y periódicos antiguos del siglo XIX y XX (La Ilustración Artística, Nuevo Mundo, Mundo Gráfico…) le sirve como fuente inagotable de imágenes de otra época, que le inspiran a la hora de mezclar lo antiguo con lo moderno y que lo llevan a su otro mundo, el de los sueños y la realidad alternativa.
Desde noviembre de 2014 forma parte del conjunto de artistas presentes en Gerhardt Braun Gallery de Palma.
Jaume Serra convierte escenas o paisajes cotidianos en mundos surrealistas, sacando de contexto a personas y objetos. Se podría decir que muchas de sus obras tienen una finalidad puramente visual, estética, de simple observación de elementos que dispuestos de cierta forma constituyen algo raro, poco habitual o fantasioso.
Pero en el trasfondo de cada obra se esconden desde ideas simples hasta mensajes muy personales detrás de cada centímetro cuadrado. Mensajes evidentes como su amor por la música o su interés por el espacio exterior le sirven para crear lugares muy personales. Su preferencia por enfrentar mundos y elementos antagónicos y el placer que le supone sustituir cabezas humanas por simples objetos puede indicar cierto rechazo a la deshumanización de la especie. Soledad, nostalgia, miedos, sueños, incertidumbre, amor, humor y color.
ENG: Towards the end of 2013 he start creating his first digital collage pieces. His strong surrealist bend is clearly felt from the very start. His fondness for collecting nineteen and twentieth century magazines and newspapers (La Ilustración Artística, Nuevo Mundo, Mundo Gráfico …) serves as an inexhaustible source of images from another period that inspire him when it comes to mixing the old fashion with the modern, and it leads him to his other world, that of dreams and alternative reality.

By taking people and objects out of context, Jaume Serra turns everyday scenes or landscapes into surrealist worlds. Many of his works have a purely visual, aesthetic purpose; asimple, pure observation of a set of elements that are arranged in a certain manner, through which Serra creates something strange or fantastic. But in the background of each piece, we find hidden ideas and uniquely personal messages, covering the entire surface.
Clear messages such as his love for music or his interest in Outer Space,help Serra to create his own universe.His preference for antagonistic worlds and confronting elements one against the other, and the pleasure he derives from substituting human heads for simple objects, points towards hisrejection of the dehumanization of the species.
