Habitualmente reacios a tocar en directo y mostrarse en público, Autechre harán una excepción este 2015 con algunos conciertos exclusivos y muy señalados. Y uno de ellos, será por supuesto, el de Sónar Barcelona, donde sólo han actuado una vez, en 1996. Será en SonarHall, el espacio perfecto para captar los infinitos detalles de su electrónica abstracta que, llevada al directo, alcanza la categoría de clase magistral en álgebra sonora. Autechre es probablemente el dúo más admirado y respetado de toda la generación de experimentadores procedentes de Inglaterra en los 90. La importancia del discurso y el lenguaje inventado por Rob Brown y Sean Booth es tal que sin ellos no se podría entender el desarrollo del techno abstracto y la IDM (intelligent dance music) de los últimos 25 años. Recientemente la prestigiosa web FACT Magazine eligió “Flutter”, uno de sus tracks, como el número 1 de la lista de los mejores 100 temas de IDM de la historia, y discos como “Incunabula”, “Amber”, “Tri Repetae” o los más recientes “Oversteps” y “Exai” son todos ellos obras maestras de la música abstracta y la deconstrucción sonora. Toda su carrera se ha desarrollado en el seno de Warp, sello del que son pilar fundamental y desde el que han influido a muchísimos artistas que después han sido primeras espadas de la escena internacional. Sin exagerar: uno de los nombres más importantes de la historia de la música electrónica.

Sónar Barcelona will of course play host to them once more after their single festival appearance in 1996. They will perform in SonarHall, the perfect place to capture the infinite complexities of their abstract electronica, where their live show will deliver a master class in sound algebra.
Autechre are one of the most admired and respected duos from an entire generation of 1990’s UK music experimentalists. They have played an integral role in the development of abstract techno and IDM (intelligent dance music) over the past 25 years. They have spent their entire career in the bosom of Warp and are a cornerstone of the label, having influenced many artists who have since become leading lights on the international scene.
