“Hora en eslavo antiguo significa una montaña cubierta de bosque. Horka es una pequeña parte, somos al mismo tiempo yo y mi lugar en la Tierra. Por lo tanto, una montaña negra y solitaria con una cruz inclinada se ha convertido en un signo de Horka Dolls, una firma con la que se marca cada muñeca mía”
El hombre es un grupo de valores aprendidos del hogar, sus propias creencias y experiencias de vida, tiene marcas psicológicas, a veces físicas, impresas por otras personas o eventos, consta de elementos, partes, a veces esconde su verdadero rostro bajo la máscara asumida. Esta complejidad de un ser humano, en la forma en que se crean los títeres, se ha convertido en un punto de partida para crear una técnica completamente nueva y original de crear muñecas. Máscaras faciales cosidas, manos y piernas, corazones colgados en el botón, arterias hechas de hilos enredados, costuras visibles, desde el principio, constituyen un elemento fuerte de creación y una característica reconocible de Horka Dolls.
“He estado creando muñecas desde 2012 y mi principal motivación sigue siendo la perspectiva de hacer un objeto excepcional y la emocionante posibilidad de la transformación visual de la materia, durante la cual el material simple y sin forma que es la arcilla se transforma en un objeto de gran poder. Cuando una muñeca comienza a “ver”, la creación se convierte en un proceso alquímico en el que el objeto toma las características de un sujeto que trasciende los marcos de una cosa muerta y que evoca emoción y curiosidad.”
Las muñecas Horka son objetos peculiares con alma, seres surrealistas que unen elementos de realismo y ficción y, por eso, evocan sentimientos extremos, desde asombro hasta miedo. Son una especie de homúnculos o golems, donde en la materia sin vida queda encantada una partícula de vida aparentemente humana. La esencia de una muñeca se aclara durante el acto de creación. Es un proceso duradero y totalmente absorbente. “No supongo nada de antemano, más bien descubro lo que sea que una muñeca espera. Cada etapa del trabajo con la muñeca no solo sirve para crear una imagen artística coherente, sino también para crear su identidad y personalidad.”
ENG: “Hora in Old Slavic means a mountain covered with forest. Horka is a small part of it, it is at the same time me and my place on Earth. Therefore, a black, lonely mountain with a slanting cross has become a sign of Horka Dolls, a signature with which every doll of mine is marked.”
Human is a cluster of values, learned from home, his own beliefs and life experiences, he bears psychological, sometimes physical marks imprinted by other people or events, consists of elements, parts, sometimes hides his true face under the assumed mask.
This complexity of a human being, in the likeness of which puppets are created, has become a starting point for me to create a completely new, original technique of creating dolls. Sewn-on faces-masks, hands and legs, hearts hung on the button, arteries made of tangled threads, visible stitching, from the very beginning, make up a strong element of creation and a recognizable feature of Horka Dolls.
“I have been creating dolls since 2012 and my main motivation does still remain the perspective of making an exceptional object and the exciting possibility of the visual transformation of matter, during which simple, shapeless material that is clay is transformed into an object of great power when a doll starts ‚seeing’, creating becomes as if an alchemical process in which the object takes the characteristics of a subject that transcends the frames of a dead thing and that evokes excitement and curiosity.”
Horka Dolls are peculiar things with soul, surreal beings that join elements of realism and fiction and because of this evoke extreme feelings, from awe to fear. They are a kind of homunculi or golems, where in lifeless matter a seemingly human particle of life lies enchanted. The essence of a doll becomes clear during the act of creation. It is a long-lasting and utterly absorbing process. I do not assume anything in advance, rather I discover whatever it is that a doll being expects. Every stage of work with the doll does not only serve the purpose of creating a coherent artistic image, but also the creation of its identity and personality.
