Amante de los sonidos industriales, el acid techno, la electronic body music (EBM) de los 80, el darkwave, el minimal wave y el electro, Helena Hauff ha aprendido todo lo que sabe como dj (que es mucho) en el pequeño club The Golden Pudel, situado en un sucio sótano de su Hamburgo natal. Entre las cuatro paredes del club, donde se encarga de la noche Birds and Other Instruments, Hauff ha podido experimentar con el espectro más experimental de la electrónica de baile y construirse así un mundo sonoro propio. Con el tiempo este mundo se ha ido materializando en una serie de maxis y proyectos, que avanzan lo que sin duda puede ser una larga y fructífera carrera como productora. Su primer 12 pulgadas, “Actio Reactio”, se publicó en 2013 en Werk, el sello de Actress, y gozó de la distribución mundial de Ninja Tune; y PAN, una de las plataformas de electrónica experimental más importantes del mundo, ha dado cobijo a Black Sites, su proyecto a medias con el otro residente del Golden Pudel, f#x. También ha sacado maxis y EPs en Panzerkreuz y Lux Rec, pero para su debut en Sónar nos obsequiará, en el escenario SonarCar, con una de sus rotundas e intensas sesiones de techno, electro y acid.

Lover of industrial sounds, acid techno, 80’s electronic body music (EBM), darkwave, minimal wave and electro, Helena Hauff has learned everything she knows as a dj (which is plenty) in the small club The Golden Pudel, located in a dingy basement of her native Hamburg. Inside the club’s four walls she has been responsible for nights Birds and Other Instruments which has allowed her to investigate the experimental spectrum of electronic dance music and in doing so she has created her very own sound.
Over time this sound materialized via a series of EPs and projects, cementing the shared opinion that she will have a long and fruitful career as a producer. Her first 12” “Actio Reactio” was released in 2013 on: the Werk label (home to Actress) and enjoyed worldwide distribution from Ninja Tune; and PAN, one of the most important experimental electronica platforms in the world, is the home to Black Sites, her joint project with other Golden Pudel resident f#x. She has also released singles and EPs on Panzerkreuz and Lux Rec. For her Sónar debut she will be handed the keys to the SonarCar stage where she will perform one of her emphatic and intense techno, electro and acid sets.
